EFEXnet sounding board

The 'sounding board' is EFEXnet's panel of industry experts and practitioners. It provides best practice views and opinions, comment, and advice on any issue raised by other members, and help when a member contacts the network with a query or problem and needs good practice suggestions.

Current sounding board members are:

Andrew Percival, Lead Associate, EFEXnet

Andrew is the Lead Associate for the network and brings over 35 years’ experience at senior level within the sector.

Mike Jones, Director of Asset Management, HQN

Mike leads on HQN's asset management work and brings over 30 years’ experience in the housing sector to the sounding board.

Andrew Upton, HQN Associate

Andrew is a chartered surveyor with over 27 years' construction experience, almost 20 of these in the social housing sector. He also sits on the board of a Community Gateway Association in Preston. Andrew was an acknowledged contributor to both the EcoHomes Guide and the Green Guide to Sustainable Housing, published in 2000 by the BRE.

John Barnham, Head of Sustainable Investment, Orbit Group

John is a pioneer of the Orbit Group’s approach to environmental issues and specialises in sustainability, renewable energy, procurement, asset management and the retrofit agenda. He is a regular contributor to Inside Housing on environmental sustainability.

Rory Prendergast, Environmental Advisor, Hounslow Homes

Rory is the Environmental Adviser for Hounslow Homes, and focuses on environmental management, energy use and carbon reduction, waste reduction, pollution, resources and raising environmental awareness.

Sam Sykes, Asset Strategy Manager, Chevin Housing Association

Sam is Chevin Housing Association's Asset Strategy Manager and focuses upon key environmental issues such as sustainability, retrofit, and renewable energy.

Paul Webb, Business Manager, Bury Six Town Housing

Paul Webb is the Sustainability and Investment Manager with Six Town Housing, and has over 20 years' experience in social housing. He has delivered Decent Homes investment projects as well as repairs and maintenance services including asset management and, more recently, sustainability, energy-efficiency and the low carbon agenda within social housing.

Craig Jackson, Senior Consultant, South Yorkshire Housing Association

Craig has over 25 years of design and project management experience within the construction industry. Over the past ten years he has developed an in-depth, specialist knowledge of sustainable construction methodologies and low-/zero-carbon energy strategies within the housing sector.

Dr Martin Field, Research Associate, University of Northampton

Martin is a senior lecturer with the Institute for Urban Affairs at the University of Northampton. He previously held senior positions in the local authority sector covering housing strategy, management and development roles and regional development posts with the East Midlands Development Agency, the Homes and Community Agency and the Housing Corporation.

Dr Tim Brown, Director of the Centre for Comparative Studies in Housing, Leicester de Montfort University

Tim is Director of the Centre for Comparative Housing Research at De Montfort University. He is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Tim is course leader for the MSc in Business for Housing at de Montfort.
